Tour Guide
For the leading of mountain bike tours and for other tasks of the mountain bike business, the MTB center in Rethymnon, Crete employs seasonal staff according to local needs from approx. mid-March until the beginning of November.
As a mountain bike guide, you are presented with a wide ranging area of responsibility. You will lead MTB tours, carry out transfers and help in the servicing of the mountain bikes including the general equipment. According to individual suitability you will also undertake further tasks in the development of the center, it’s coordination and in representing the center in the local area.
Alongside your occupation you will also have the opportunity to take part in the holiday life and to use many sport facilities, although your job as a mountain bike guide will naturally be of priority in your timetable.
You should have the following competences:
- Craftsman’s training, preferably as a bicycle mechanic, or provable equivalent.
- A flair for dealing with people.
- Valid car driving license.
- First aid education (completed no longer than 2 years ago).
- Basic Dutch and English language knowledge, capable of development.
- Knowledge of the German, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, French, Italian and Russian languages is welcome.

Bicycle Mechanic
Every year the MTB center in Rethymnon, Crete hires seasonal staff for servicing and preserving their mountain bikes which are positioned in the price range’s upper end. Priority from mid March to early in November. The working period may start some weeks earlier if there is a number of new mountain bikes to build up and it may be extended for some weeks for repairs and renovations.
As a mountain bike mechanic you take on responsibility for maintenance and servicing of the entire fleet of mountain bikes and of the peripheral technical equipment of the MTB center. According to individual suitability you will also undertake further tasks in the development of the center. You will be integrated into the team which consists from the center’s management and its MTB guides.
As well as your colleagues you will take part in the holiday life or use the numerous sport facilities in your free time.
You should have the following competences:
- Craftsman’s training, preferably as a bicycle mechanic.
- Ability to coordinate your functions independently.
- Experience in leading a workshop.
- Team competence.
- Valid car driving license.
- Basic Dutch, English and German language knowledge, capable of development.
